At the July meeting we will provide some suggestions to improve attendance and we will welcome all other recommendations for improvement. We will provide a calendar of events for the remainder of the year and ask for committee suggestions. We will pass out literature, such as our bylaws, for your review and comment.
This will be the most important meeting of the year. If you cannot attend and have an alternate date, please let us know. If you prefer to review docs by email and email suggestions back, please let us know.
With the tornado damage at the lake and a lack of volunteers and publicity, we really need your attendance and support. Please note that support can be your work, funds, and/or moral support by attending the meetings, sending us emails, and providing comments here or on our Facebook page.
Please give us your support by attending the July 20th meeting. (7pm, Discovery Cove Nature Center)
Regards,
Alynn Stewart
Treasurer
The shorelines of Lake Thunderbird bear a heavy burden from continuous use and large inflows of water carrying debris. This accumulation has taken place over the last 44 years. Due to limited resources and the vast 86 miles of shore line, routine cleaning of the shoreline has not been possible. We need your help! Your group (or just you) can help Lake Thunderbird by adopting a beach. The program will run each year from October 1 to April 30. So pick a warm day during that time and come help!
Call the Discovery Cove Nature Center 321-4633 or email crowssecret@sbcglobal.net and find out how to register a beach area your group would like to take care of.
Sponsored by Friends of Lake Thunderbird, Lake Thunderbird State Park Employees, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and the Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District.

Tomorrow 5/27, and Friday 5/28, volunteers to help cleanup the beach areas can come to the Lake Thunderbird Park Office, 13101 Alameda Drive, from 10am to 5pm. They will give you gloves, water, trash bags, and other tools if needed then direct you to an area that needs help. Park Office # 360-3572
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Lake Thunderbird officials reopened five boat ramps after a major park cleanup over the past two weeks. A tornado destroyed the Little River Marina, along with some 250 boats, spreading debris throughout the lake. The May 10 storm caused an estimated $13 million in damages to the park.
Launch ramps at Turkey Pass (Clear Bay), South Dam, Post Oak, Hog Creek and North Sentinel are now available to the public.
Boaters are urged to use caution as there is still some debris in the water.
